Default Need help please, Diablo Revolution Chip question

i just got my hands on a Diablo Revolution chip, i know it came from a V6 99-04 mustang. it had a vortech supercharger a diablo revolution chip and some other goodies. my budy got the car off the auction and sold the supercharger and gave me the chip. i have no idea if i could use it on my car or is it specific for that year model mustang? i have been trying to find stuff on the net about this chip but i cant really find anything on it. i think diablo sport doesnt even sell it anymore. can i use it on my car? is it programable? how do i install this thing?

Forget chips unless you're having a burger with it. I doubt it would work on the S197, anyway.

99-04 is a different engine so I can only assume that the electronics are quite different. You can't even use a custom tune written for, say, MY S197 and use it on another S197.

The older PCM (99-04) could utilize a piggy back 'chip' between the ECM and body connector. This chip had a tune in it (or several sometimes) that could be selected by moving a dial or lever mounted somewhere to switch the tune.

It is not compatible with newer (05+) mustangs and even if it were, it would need to be sent to a programmer to load the tunes on it.

AM still offers these http://www.americanmuscle.com/performance-chips.html

You have a banging GT500 front end conversion and you can't buy a tuner???

From what I understand the chips are a thing of the past, and pretty useless on our cars. Considering S197 Diablo tuners are VERY specific, with 2 year breakdown for the same car, 05-06 and 07-09, I seriously doubt that chip would do anything even if you manage to get it connected.
