Default Question on suspension

All:

I have installed the Eibach Sportline suspension system on my GT. It is undeniably improved the performance in acceleration, cornering grip and braking. My issue is that it is EXTREMELY low and has a brutal ride. The height has me creeping into most driveways lest I drag the exhaust on the ground. The ride (especially in the rear) is like sitting on the pavement. This baby is a road-going race car (which was my goal), but I am starting to re-think.

Any suggestions on springs that I might change out that will give me a little more height, a little more supple ride, yet not sacrifice too much on performance? I will keep the Eibach shocks, struts and sway bars, but should I go with the Eibach Pro-kit springs instead?

Any advice is appreciated!

it sounds like you answered your own question. the sportlines are the lowest they offer - if you want to raise it, you need to pick different springs. they state what drop the springs will cover on their products. if you are looking for a small drop with good ride quality, the go-to of choice seems to be speeda sports.

I find the sportlines with the eibach struts and shocks to ride quite comfortably myself. more comfortable then the stock brembo package suspension setup, for sure.

Let me know if I can help provide support to get a set?

Best Regards,

Did you cut your bump stops? I lowered my car 1.25 inch in the rear and it is only about .5 inch from touching the stops, I may cut mine, You may just be hitting yours over every small bump or even possibly just sitting on them constantly.

This may be my issue. I hear a clunk in the rear over nearly every bump in the road. I have to admit I have no experience with bump stops. Is cutting them hard?

Think you answered this well yourself, especially with existing Eibach components on-board; Go Pro springs. The Pro's are not as 'flat' and rigid but still give incredible road feel, and greatly improved handling.

you can check how close they are, look for them under right above the axle and they look like this (orange thing)

cutting is easy, try to make sure nothing will hit anything after you cut them, look around exhaust pipes / how close the tires are to the fender etc and make sure they have some clearance. I havent cut mine yet , they are only about .5 inch from touching, i think i should probably cut them. Im lowered 1.25 inch in the rear.

check how much , or if there is any space between the frame and the top of the bump stop.

stock ride height they have about 1.5 inch, or so of clearance , so they get close when you lower alot and sometimes need to be cut down

I'd say the general consensus has been spot on. The sportlines are extremely low, so they do not offer a comfortable ride. I'm running the UPR Pro Series springs on my car, which are made for us by Eibach and they spec out the same as Eibach's Pro Kit springs. It has a decent ride quality and great handling.

Also, I didn't cut my bump stops when I initially installed the UPR/Eibach springs and the bump stops rubbed through the paint on the bumpstop brackets! I guess they'd spent a significant amount of time up there. I cut the bump stops and it's not hitting anymore.

I just had the pro kit installed on my car two weeks ago. They did cut the bump stops down a little. I honestly can barely tell any difference in ride quality whatsoever. I have no issues on any roads in my area and I live in Southeast Louisiana where all the roads are horrible!

Your car looks awesome.
