I have a 2006 mustang gt and I'm wondeing what mods I should tell the place I order my tunes for to write tunes for. I have an 89mm jlt cold air intake and mac axle backs do I tell them both of those? What else would I say? I'm just curios before I order my tuner I'm new to all this so just looking to get some info thanks for all the help

You need to tell them the Cold Air intake.
The axle backs wont matter.

If you have changed your wheel/tire size or have changed the gear ratio you also need to tell them that. Really you need to tell them all performance mods.
Axle backs are an exception though.

Any and all powertrain related changes(gears, cams, exhaust, cai, etc). They will also ask for the PCM computer code, this is on a sticker on the PCM itself, on the side or top of the unit. When you order the tuner from them, you will likely not provide this info. They have a separate "Bama" section that you will give all this information to after you've placed the tuner or tuner/cai package order. Instuctions will be given.

Also what octanes you want the tunes written for. My Stang isn't my DD but I will use it for long road trips and I make sure I carry the tuner with an 87 custom tune (which still runs circles around the stock 87 tune) inaddition to higher octane tunes mainly because I've been in the middle of Bumf**k and could only get 87 octane on more than one occasion.

They have a questionare on AM. You can check it out before ordering. But most of what the guys covered here are there.

^ Telling them the octanes you want for which tunes is very important.

Axle backs won't matter as stated before.

Am states roughly 30 HP with Tune/Cai. Best bang for your buck. I always ran 93 street/performance/race. Performance was always my tune of choice. Race tune has a touchy pedal.

Yes, you can still have the tuner setup to different octanes and run the car at different octanes. Remember you can always run the 87 tune on 93 gas, but not 93 tune on 87 gas.

When I had my 07, I drove the 91 P tune for a good 20K miles with no issues.

FYI - Never let your wife drive with race tune and O/R X/Boom tubes. She was hitting 4k before leaving the red light, lol. Everyone giving her the look with the loud exhaust.
