Default Windows? How to clean.

Ok guys (and gals), I have been on the hunt for the perfect window cleaner. I have tried great value, Windex automotive, and rainX. Nothing quite gets it. Plz give me some good advice from all your wisdom. Oh and Wat do u use to apply it? (microfiber, newspaper)

Criteria:

No streaks!!!!
Preferably no ammonia
Last fairly long
I would like the water-resistance of RainX

Invisible glass or foaming glass cleaner usually works good for me, I like Invisible glass better tho because it leaves no residue. Microfiber towel or even scot towel works fine.

I'm no detailing guru, but I've heard many of those who are swear by a somewhat complicated formula of.........water. No smell, no residue, as cheap as it gets, and unless you are cleaning off overspray or caked on bugs, it'll do the trick.

I got some stuff from Autogeek.net called Detailer's Pro series Krystal Vision glass cleaner and it works really good. They sell a kit that has a microfiber towel with it for $20.

I have been using Meguairs Detailers Pro Glass Cleaner concentrate. Works better than anything I've used. You have to dilute it and it lasts forever.

Throw in my two cents here. Any glass cleaner works pretty well, I prefer something in an aresol. I like to use Scotts blue towels, or something equally absorbant. The trick is to really soak the window with cleaner. Then scrub it clean. Then, before it has a chance to dry completely, get a new towel and dry it. If theere are any streaks, give it a light mist with cleaner and go over it again. Works pretty well for me anyway. I used to work for a guy who was a fanatic about window streaks, learned as a kid how to avoid them.

I use invisible glass, or as of late, I use chemical guys glass cleaner. It's pretty darn cheap considering it dilutes into 3 gallons of window cleaner. I prefer newspaper over everything for making sure it's streak free.

I was just about to jump all over this post. He said it ^ WATER. Simply works the best. Better than windex, armor all, etc. Water and a nice fiber towel works great. I've seen so many ppl at shows use other things and you can see smears, but with using water it cleans windshields and windows perfectly.
