AM doesn't disable PATS
So I ordered my tuner today and put in my information for the tunes that I would like, to find out a few minutes later that they can't do it because they can't disable PATS and that I will have to take it to a dyno tuner. So is there another way around PATS to just start the car to make sure it works correctly before I have someone drag it 80 miles to a tuner and does anyone know of reputable dyno tuner shop in the hampton roads area.

I live here in Elizabeth City, and most of the guys in our Mustang club use DTP in Chesapeake VA. I haven't used them personally, but those I know that have used them have only good things to say about them. Here is their link.

uhm....
wut?
Passive anti-theft system has nothing to do with tuning. It alters the PCM which PATS is tied to, but that is verification to allow the injectors and solenoid to start. Tuning won't touch it. Turn with valid already programmed key, done. This is an SCT tuner?
Perhaps I'm wrong, and this is the reason for the computer code being necessary, but I didn't believe this was being re-flashed. So long as a valid key is used, it should allow bypassing once you put it in the on position for altering.

I'm doing a v6 to v8 swap so my v6 keys will not start a v8 computer/engine operated car.
Check with Blow By Racing.... I know someone who did a 4.0 to 4.6 swap like yourself and he has a tune from them so they must do it...
Yes I already know that, that will be the last thing done with the swap. I want to be able to disable the PATS so I can make sure the engine will fire up and that there is no problems with it first.
