Unhappy Issue with cleaning interior of car

Whats good guys,

just recently got my first car, pre owned 2012 V6 mustang. came in great shape, except theres some sticky stuff (which I seriously dont want to know what it is) on the passangers dashboard and center console near the radio and the stick. Any opinions on how to clean it without damaging the inside of the car?

Thanks

Goo Gone is similiar to a lighter fluid and might harm the surface.

you never know - it could have been a lady in the passenger seat and a horse out the window.

It's probably some kind of glue. You'll have to figure out what solvent base it is. Maybe you can scratch a small bit of it off with your fingernail. If so, then try some of the typical solvents, like paint thinner and nail polish remover (acetone) to see what dissolves it. Once you find the base, then find something with that same base which won't harm the plastic on the console.
