I have not had this problem with mine. If and when I had this happen to mine I would first remove the headliner. This should give you access to the shade assembly. I would then see if anything failed and can be repaired. The replacement shade from Ford is ridiculously expensive and you might be getting the same part that has the design flaw on the one that failed.

My car is a 2014 with the glass roof. I absolutely love it. It has no pitting at all.

The pro is that it gives you a tad more headroom, which doesn't matter to me but it does to the guys that ride in it.

It seems to me that when the shade is pulled it's about the same as a car with a hard roof as far as heat is concerned.

The cabin feels so much more open and roomy. I'm bummed you can no longer get them as it would be nice to eventually buy a new mustang, but I love my roof that much.

I looked at a yellow one with a glass roof before I bought mine. The glass roof was sharp, but the inside shade was off track, buckled and really messed up. Since it was new on the lot and already messed up I decided to avoid it.

Mine was involved in a front end collision and the roof was fine. Both airbags went off so it was a pretty good impact...idiot ran a red light while I had a turning arrow. When I saw he wasn't going to stop I accelerated and he chose to cut in front of me instead of behind me on a 3 lane road where he had plenty of room. I had to fight the insurance company not to total it. In PA they don't have to look at the car, only pictures and they tried to tell me the glass roof was cracked and it wasn't. It took 7 weeks of me refusing to send them the keys and title and finally turning them into the state of PA insurance department for them to go physically look at the car and fix it rather than totaling it.

The good news is I upgraded the hood after the accident :-)

Sharp car, DIB was the other color I was looking at when I got my Sterling Grey, Glass roof is one of 2 things my 2013 did not come with and wish it had. There was not one within 750 miles with the Glass Roof in either color.

I have the glass roof option. I love it. The shade works great to cut down the glare. It's easy to clean and never leaks... It's nice to look up at the sky as you're driving. It holds up to hail just fine... a very heavy tempered glass....
