Default Needing new tires soon... Questions

My stock tires are already pretty worn out. I'll be needing new tires soon and I'm starting my research. I'm on a tight budget here, so new wheels with tires are out of the question; I'll be keeping my stock 17" wheels. I live in Los Angeles, California, so no need for all season tires. I'm looking more at summer tires and I came across these on AM: http://www.americanmuscle.com/mickey...235-55-17.html

Price is reasonable and I know MT is very popular when it comes to drag radials. I was looking for more info on these, but came to find out that they're new tires, so not much info out there. My stock tires are 215/60/17 and these MTs are 235/55/17, so would I encounter any issues with these, or would they be perfect (and perhaps even better) with my stockers? Should I look into these or just go with Sumitomo HTR Z III tires? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Look into the General G-Max AS-03, I have had personal experience with the generals and they're a very nice grippy tire that doesn't wear fast.

A little more info on my driving habits/situations:

Like previously stated, I'm in Los Angeles, so I won't be seeing any snow/ice. My pony is my daily driver, I don't go to the track, I will be driving in mostly warm weather with some rain every now and then. Would I be looking at some short or extended life with the MTs I posted a link to? Would summer tires be my best option? Any other thing I should know? Thanks in advance!

I'll check them out right now. See what I can find.

Yeah, they do. I looked online and the little info I found was on a Camaro forum (forgive me for trespassing into the other side lol). A couple of those Camaro owners mentioned they'd post up their thoughts after a while of driving with the MTs on, but neither of them has updated the thread.

Antonio323,

Great choice. Mickey Thompson has been one of the most elite manufactures for Drag Radials of all time. They've now hit the market with there first Street Tire. The Mickey Thompson Street Comp tire is built for high performance applications, incredible traction, crisp handling, and high speed cornering ability.

I'm confident you'll be very happy with this set up. Let me know if you have any questions!

yeah, unfortunately I don't have and good or bad personal feedback....can only comment on the manufacturer statements....typically, I like & recommend Nitto & Toyo. I've had both on my cars (currently have Nitto's on the Cobra) and they performed well for everyday driving.

Antonio - A couple more to look at would be the Cooper Zeon RS3-S and RS3-A. Depending on how you prioritize longevity vs grip - these would both be a great choice. Here's a couple of links:

Let me know if I can answer any questions. Thanks
