Not sure where you are getting your monthly payment numbers.. a $30,000 5 year loan , even with 0% interest rate would be 500$ a month

25k loan wouldbe 416.66 a month

edit* nm i just read your more recent posts.

Im at 355 a month for my 2011 gt 2.54% finance rate

Just for clarity... You don't have to work for Ford to get X-Plan pricing... One of the benefits of being a membe of the Mustang Club of America (MCA) is that you can get a pin to get pricing... Granted membership cost must be factored into whether it is worth the hassle with X-Plan pricing, but for some it might be an option... I purchased my 2010 Eddie Bauer Explorer using it, but when I bought my 2012 Mustang, the dealership made a deal that was better than X-Plan pricing, so it depends on the dealership and how motivated they are to move their inventory.

I've been in the same shoes back in 2009. It was towards the release of the 2010 model release with $3k incentives and the automatics were flying off the lots left and right. This was in the Washington DC/Baltimore area so many people aren't willing to take a manual, including myself. I've even had dealers looking 500+ mile radius to look for one and there was only ONE in eastern MD. I tried to negotiate with them and they were completely **** not to mention put 3k miles on it as a "demo car". It was a GT premium but I let that one go, $24,xxx with 3k miles on it was like owning a pre-owned anyways, not to mention the dealership owner had taken his family on a vacation with it...

I ended up going pre-owned which at the end of the day was the better way to go.

Get X-Plan. All you have to do is join the Mustang Club of America. Dues are only $50 or so. I did that alone to save nearly 3k off sticker, and zero haggling.

BigDinTexas was kind enough to send me what the X-Plan price for my area. It's not much different than what I was quoted from a local dealer.

If you're a Costco member you can also use their auto program to get invoice pricing, or close to it. You CAN do better than it, but it gets you in the ballpark. I generally take Costco pricing, then email all the area dealers, so they can all see each other in the email, and ask who can beat the price.

So struggling with this decision

So spend $40 less at the grocery store each month. There are tons of ways to save $40 each month.

I got stuck on the numbers when I bought my car, and looking back, I could have easily paid an extra $50 each month for a higher end model.

Or, place an order for a custom built mustang. That way, you get exactly what you want, and you're not stuck paying more for a mustang that has options that you don't really want.

Or, get a Ford Focus. Sometimes folks get so fixated on a plan and then when it doesnt go their way, get upset about it and stuck in analysis paralysis. It's only 50 bucks. Quit drinking starbucks like what, 6 times a month? There's the rest of your car payment.
