Default Battery keeps dying!

So, I'm on my 3rd battery on my 2007 Stang! This doesn't seem normal. Use to getting 4/5 years out of a battery on all my other cars, only getting 2 year battery life on this car. Alternator, starter, cables all good. Had the original battery that lasted 3 years. Got another Ford battery that just died today...2 years later! Just put a new Duralast in with a 3 year warrenty this time but tired of buying batteries every 2 years! Am I the only one with these issues?

No you're not. The S197 is notorious for battery drain. It's worse if you do a lot of short distance (less than 10 miles one way) driving and/or sit in traffic (which may be the case because I used to live in Blackwood) with a lot of high power accessories on such as the AC on, lights on and the Shaker cranked up.

That sounds just like me but luckily this car's given me no problems. Still has the battery that was in it when I bought it in February 2010. Dunno if its a original Ford battery or the dealership threw in a new one...

Wow I guess I'll have to replace my battery every two years

Solution is fairly simple. Higher output alternator to recoup far faster. Of course at $400 to do close to properly with a PA performance 200 amp one you may just wish to stick with replacing the battery a year or two sooner..

Mine had that too. Went through two batteries in 2 years, then I got a 220 amp alternator on Ebay for 99 bucks new from a guy that sold his car before putting it on

The last battery is still going strong 3 years later, even after I stupidly discharged it completely the other day by leaving the hazard lights on, which by the way, you should NEVER do when you have sequential tail lights. The battery was so dead I couldn't even push start the car. Had to call my insurance rescue to jump start it. I thought the battery was done for, but just by driving home the alternator charged it. Car has been fine since.

This is the one I got: http://powerbastards.com/products.as...=46&navsid2=47

I also have a short commute (4 miles - one way) and have changed my battery twice in 5 years. I accept this as the norm.
