Default Dash Power Outlet

Howdy gang,

Total newbster here. Just picked up a 2008 GT 5MT yesterday. Can't get the grin off my face
I plugged my Garmin GPS into the dash power outlet and got nothing. Dealer replaced fuse today but still a problem. When I shut down, the GPS remains on. Is this normal??

Thanks!!!

The 12v outlets are constantly powered even after the car is locked. You have to unplug from it to turn it off.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Wow, that blows since my previous car switched them off. Any easy mod for this?

In my 2010, there is an outlet in the center console compartment. That one is switched. Don't know if that's true in the 2008's.

If you really wanted it to be a powered 12v, you could reroute the wires to the sjb to an unused spot and wire it in there and then you could have a powered link.

Make sure you turn the radio off when you shut the car off too. It will drain the battery.
