Yea I'm gonna get atleast one more opinion and see it for myself. If its the K member I'll get the get the body work done, then replace I member myself at uncles shop.

Cross your fingers that the K member mounting points on the body/subframe haven't been bent and moved, but unfortunately, if the motor itself moved, then the mounting points in the passenger side of the engine bay must have.
If you look at a pic of a bmr k-member you'll see the mounting points that are close to the strut tower.

What's your mileage?
I don't think $6K will total the car yet, but it's close...

35k miles. Bought it last year with 25.
I checked kbb for mine, premium gt manual. Etc.
Fair condition was 13.4 I believe.
I'm just worried everyone saying frame being touched is total.

Back in the day they totaled a car if the repair was 60% of the cars total value, now they are closer to 75% before they consider totaling it out. 80 in some cases.

I know you may not like this idea, and you should check your estimate as well, but insurance companies are not obligated to replace damaged parts with NEW. More and more they have body shops picking up used parts to do the repair on cars older than 15 months.

But it also saves money in the long run. Sure a used part can suck, but an undamaged used fender is about 50% of a brand new OEm from the factory.

Just saying.

No, it's not like a motorcycle where they won't even consider saving it.
I can't see your car having any frame damage really.
If the K-member got affected somehow and shifted by the anchor points where it's secure under the rails, a slight pull to the K-member on the frame machine will correct that issue pronto.

Good news. Repairs for the car were authorized by the insurance company.
I talked to body shop to have a gt/cs installe and weld close the antenna hole in the fender.
Gonna be so happy to have her back, and keep my foot off the gas whenever there's a rogue speed limit sign begging to be hit

Just got back from looking at it. I have to say 6k seems a bit extreme.
Bumper and fender, new tie rod (broke it in two), and the corner of the body that lights and fender attach to got messed up and needs to be re tack welded on.
Does anyone else think this is a load?

Apparently the bound up shifter was my nerves after the wreck so rest of body is good
