you could powdercoat a set and be as gentle as you possibly can (while torqueing them down to spec.. lol). they might hold up well enough.

They make sockets for lugs that are softer on the inside, so that may help keep them durable if you powder coat them

after searching a little outside of this forum, I am seeing a lot of warnings about how you'd likely chip and flake the powdercoating off after removing the lugs a few times. most folks say they are resorting to rattlecans so they can touch em up when the inevitable happens.

didn't really find anyone that actually went through with it and powdercoated their lugs, though. its pretty durable.

What about anodizing? If people that do anodized fittings and other components wanted to get into the lug nut business, maybe they could do green if there is a market for it. Can't imagine setting up to run just one set though. Might be a business opportunity for someone. I would have never guessed there'd be a demand for colored lug nuts.

Search eBay for "Green Anodized Nuts" I did a quick look and there is a lot of different listings with colored anodizing. There might be something there that will lead you to what you want.

+1 anodized is way better than any type of coating.
