Default Ford Racing CAI

I have the ford racing CAI, do I need to replace the filter or can it be cleaned?

I think it is a dry filter and I found the replacement on Ford Racings website:

http://fordracingparts.com/parts/par...KeyField=10098

Thanks for the help.

I have the TRD CAI in my SUV which is a dry CAI and it has a good, heavy mesh screen holding it in shape. I recently washed it in hot soapy (dish detergent) water like I do to my Steeda oiled CAI, let it dry for about 6-8 hours with a fan blowing thru it and it held up fine. Just be sure not to scrub it so not to destroy the pleats.

But since the one in the link says disposable, it's up to you if you want to try cleaning it.

Order you another one and try cleaning the one you have now. Crazy I know, but at least you will have another one quick and on hand in case it goes south. I would have thought that would have been a washable filter.

Nuke is wrong about letting it dry for 6-8 hours with a fan. That is just crazy. I dry mine with a torch. JK.

Ah, yes. The quick-dry method.

When I installed mine, the instructions stated that the filters were not reusable. I'd buy the K&N filter and call it a day.

Thanks fellas.

The K&N is $30 more than the Ford replacement. Why?

If your talking about the Ford Racing CAI for GT500, VMP has a cheaper one than ford.
