Default 2010 GT Clicking noise

Hey guys,

Im getting a clicking noise when I cold start my car and it sounds like its coming from the back of the stock CD player / temp controls. It clicks on a .5 second interval for around 30 to 60 seconds and then goes away. I believe it will be a warranty issue when I can actually get a hold of the Ford service dept but I was just wondering if any other 10 GTers have had this issue?

I don't think I've ever noticed this.

turn your heater on and off and play with the defroster settings to see if the noise comes back. A faulty HVAC blender door is common and it produces a ticking sound. If this is it, noise should be coming more from behind the glove box.

I can also verify it's the Temp Blend Door Motor. Just have them use a stethoscope to verify the location of the noise and it'll be covered under warranty. For mine they removed the glove box and passenger airbag module to gain access to that actuator, took about 4 hours to replace in total with the part on-hand at the time.

Just hope that it's not one of the ones that requires the whole dash to be removed to gain access to it.

My wife had an Expedition with a bad rear A/C blend door accuator. Yu can play with the blend to stop it until you can get it serviced. I had to tear the entire rear interior out to replace it. Actually sounds worse than what it was time wise.

Hello Twist154,

Were you able to get this resolved? If not, please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can review this for you.
