older gt or newer gt
ok peeps.
i plan on selling me v6 in the future..now i can just stretch to a newer model v8 32 valve one.
now here in sweden they are about 10k usd more than the older motor v8..
my future plans include a supercharger (maybe 4 years time)
is the extra outlay just for the better motor worth it?
cheers rudi

The new V8 engine has an increase of 110-120 HP over the 05-10 models. If I could afford to have gotten a 2011/2012, trust me I would have! I would say if you have the funds, make the investment, the newer s197's will retain value better than their predecessors due to having a better built engine with a drastic increase in HP. If only GM had brought the Camaro back in 2008... then Ford would have been forced to rebuild the enginre sooner and my 09 would be so much faster! Sigh.

Guess it depends on what type of performance you are looking for. The 5.0 will smoke a 4.6 easy...no doubt there. The 4.6 is no wimp, but with the horespower difference it can't compete. I am happy with my 4.6 as it gives me all the power I need...notice how I didn't say want!!!! I just don't feel like spending the extra $$$ to upgrade...plus I like my body style better....I don't dislike the new style though. You could get a 4.6 and supercharge it and get the same performance as a stock 5.0 for less money. Either way you choose to go you will get a great looking car with great performance.

I was willing to settle for a 2005 or 2006, but when I found my '07 GT/CS, I knew I had struck gold. Exactly the car I wanted at the right price (cash) and it even has a one-of-a-kind interior.
Since I will probably not track it, close to 300HP is as good as 500+ for my tastes.

Handling on the 2012/13 was also improved and the cars overall weight is lighter due to the 5.0L engine being lighter than the 4.6L. May have some different interior styles and paint colors but other than that not to different.
But by far the handling I whacked a few curbs the first week I got this thing. I was not use to a Mustang turning this well.
