Looking for Mufflers Only !!!
I am looking for a louder sounding MUFFLER only for my 2006 stang GT..
I called Midus up and they will put on Flowmasters on for me at $350.
Unless you people think I I should buy another type of Muffler and have them put in in?
I don't want to go crazy and pay alot for 2 mufflers.
Will ONLY changing the Mufflers will make that much of a differance?
I am looking for a louder sound. And If I get flowmasters what ones would you all say I should get ...Thanks...............Thanks allll JohnnyT

You can change the mufflers yourself and save some money. It should take you less then an hour with hand tools. You don't even need to have the car on a lift just some jack stands. It will sound a lot more aggressive with just the muffler change. Do a search and there should be some sound clips in this section.
May I sugest SLP loudmouth axleback? I have them on mine and think that they are great! Plus they are under $300 with free shipping from Lmperformance...http://www.lmperformance.com/5535/73.html....they also have a sound clip on that same page.
That easy to install??? I heard people complan about the Mufflers don't line up right sometimes?
If its that easy I can save at least $200 ,,,,,,I wonder would it be better to have my local Service station do it,maybe they can do it in a hour and I can still save some money...JohnnyT

I have the Bassani axlebacks on my car and love the sound. Very aggressive. I did the install myself with no problem. Save some $$$ and do it yourself. If you can work a socket/wrench you will have no problem. Taking the stock mufflers off is the hardest part. The aftermarket axlebacks are smaller and give you plenty of room to move around under there. I jacked the car up and put it on axle stands to give me plenty of room underneath. Ramps would also work.
I put on a set of SLP Powerflo mufflers. I didn't want the loud sound of the Loudmouths but I wanted it more agressive than stock. I didn't have to jack up the car or put it on ramps. Just left it on the ground and installed them there. Very easy to replace yourself. The only hard part is getting a box wrench the front hanger. You have to work around the muffler to get to the bolt. Putting the new ones on takes on minutes.
