So I've been noticing that on my 05gt that my map lights ha entry been coming on when I open the door, the yesterday the lights wouldn't come on I had to hit the switch twice, and then it came on so now I got out and the gauges stayed on also the radio and the lock button didn't work, I disconnected the batter to get the lights and stuff off. I then checked passe get foot well for any water, checked the locks for damage opened and closed both doors and now I'm in desperate need of help.

Also the odometer shows - - - - - - like it's being tuned.

Weird things happen when the alternator goes out. Is yours still stock?

You're out of warranty so just leave your CAI & tune as-is. Most dealerships are cool about it, anyway.

If your issues aren't related to the water leak, then I'll say it's a voltage problem due to either the battery, the alternator or both. On these S197's, either one can only be DEGRADED for wierd problems to begin.

A battery that reads 11.8 volts is dead. A fully charged battery should read approximately 12.65 volts.

Correct. Well, not DEAD but damn near it. Terminal voltage on a battery after shutting the engine off will read near 13.0 volts but should read 12.6 volts (for a healthy battery) after sitting overnight. When the vehicle is running, the voltage should be about 13.2 to 13.6 volts. If it's charging at 14 volts, the alternator is trying to replenish a battery which won't accept it. That in itself is enough to degrade/damage the OE alternator.

So the alternator could cause majority or all of these electrical gremlins? I hope it is the alternator it'd be a lot of stress off my back

I'd suspect your battery first based on what you've stated. But it may have already caused damage to the alternator... or not. Have them both load tested.
