Default Ducktail install

Just wondering if 3M tape alone is strong enough to hold the spoiler on,I don't want to drill any holes. Anyone use just tape?

I doubt it. I've seen several Mustangs with louvers that have fallen off due to 3M alone, and those aren't designed to modify airflow.

I have had my Cervini ducktail spoiler on my 05 for almost a year now with only 3M. No problems yet. I do keep a eye on it making sure it is not coming loose. I would suspect parts will start to come loose before they go flying off.

Yeah, I don't trust 3M double sided tape that much. Good stuff, but the exterior of our cars take alot of heat, water and dirt.

Its not worth taking the risk. Just drill two holes and call it a day.

It might last a while, but over time (heat, cold, moisture) it will eventually come loose.

Look into 3m 94 primer, it's help the tape stick better.

I lost one of my louver 3 week after buying my car, it flyed on the highway and dropped on a brand new audi A7, piece of **** wasnt sticked correctly with the 3m,
my ducktail spoiler is also on 3m, it hold correctly but ive had problem on very HOT day, the wing on the trunk would unstick at some place making it look uneven but would get back in place when the temp get cooler..kind of lame if you ask me

My Cervini ducktail is held together with urathane adhesive. It's not going anywhere.

What brand/kind did you use? Is it removable or is it permanent? Thanks.
