Default 2013 5.0l msd two step issues

hey guys i have a 2013 5.0l. i have installed a msd two step on it and i am haveing and issue with it. the rev control works but once i come off the switch to let the vehicle rev up, the engine revs very slowly (3-4s to go from 3k-6k with no load on the car) and was wondering if anyone had seen this issue before?

MSD's are not well-liked; there have been numerous issues with their "standard" COPs. I wouldn;t be surprised if the one's you have are also issue-ridden.

Two step and COPs are two different things. OP, have you tried switching the connector with 8 wires with the connector that only has one (red) wire. Worked for me, but I'm not sure if the 5.0 is wired the same as a 3V.

I went with a WOT box from n2mb. The 2 step feature works flawlessly and is programmable with a laptop. A great way to spend 199.

if you switch the connectors around the car does not run. tried that one hopeing for it to work when i installed it. and yes my friend has a wot box in his vw and it works great. i just wanted to be able to remove it easily incase i had to take it in for warrenty.

What kinds of mods do you have on your car that made you add the MSD 2-step to it? For a pretty stock mustang (or any car) I don't see any advantages with this system? It just adds another degree of complexity and point of failure to an already complex system (ignition).

Personally, I think MSD is great for older cars before the days of COP ignition systems but I have yet to see a product of theirs (or any of their competitors) that truly add a significant level of performance to 90% of the applications they are used in these days on cars with COP systems... The other 10% are highly modified and have proven to show gains.

Not a whole lot of mods. the car has an airraid intake jba off road x-pipe, lakewood front struts(70/30) lakewood rear shocks(50/50) cobra jet drag springs front and back( the black ones ) and is on a tire. was just hoping with all the extra work im doing to it that the msd would cut some 60ft time and make me a little more consistent. this will only be my 2nd yr running a gear car. my 09 gt was an auto.
