Default Brake upgrade options?

I remember reading that the 2011+ brakes are larger than my 06's and with a bracket can bolt up. Any information on this? Thanks

The 2011+ non-Brembo GTs have 13.2" front rotors while the 05-10 GTs have 12.4" rotors. To upgrade, you only need the rotors and caliper brackets. Roush overstock has them for $150

I've seen people talking about these kits lately and saw this as a good way to upgrade my brakes. I was curious if I need mounting brackets, or does the kit come with them?

This kit comes with the caliper brackets. As a plus, you also get a spare set of calipers and pads. I think you need 18" wheels or larger for the rotors to clear though.

Thanks for the link. I added it to my "watch list"

Cant go wrong with rotors, pads, calipers, and brackets shipped for 150! That's about what it would cost locally just for the rotors and pads.

Do you know if there is an upgrade for the rear brakes as well? I looked in their other auctions and only thing I found was 2012 rotors (11.8") and says it will fit 2005-2012, but I don't know the stock size of my 2006 rear breaks.

As far as I know, all S197s share the same rear brakes (11.8") except for the 2013 GT500 (13.8"). You can upgrade the pads though; I think my 2010 TrackPack has pads made by Performance Friction.

Just wanted to chime in and say I did this upgrade about 2 weeks ago, and its been great. Have'nt really pushed it yet, as I also got new pads so letting them bed in a bit more, but the upgrade went flawlessly. absolutely need 18inch rims though, the space between my caliper and rim is very small at this point. I got the whole kit from Roush, as it included the brackets which are expensive if bought separately, and the rotors, but i only used the brackets and rotors as my calipers were in great shape and the fluid was recently changed.

I was considering these for pads, unless I got better suggestions.

I would say if you are looking for OE replacment pads, and not higher temp pads, just use the stock pads that come with that Roush kit. I ended up getting Hawk HPS pads to go with the setup as I wanted something with a bit less fad, but the pads that came with the kit were in perfect shape.
