So, I bought a 2005 mineral gray gt a little while back. Love it. When I bought it the hood was black. The paint is chipping on the front edge of the hood. I think they used cheap paint or something. It's a cowl hood. 2 inch I think. I am gonna have the hood repainted mineral gray to match the rest of the car soon and I want some opinions on color for the super snake stripe that I am gonna put on it. I'm stuck between matte black, regular gloss black, red, silver, or blue.


Also, I am planning on painting my valve covers, throttle body, and fuel rails. There's a thread here about a how to with pics

I'd go with silver. I just think it looks great. I've even seen one on here with fat silver stripes with thin orange or red stripes on the outside.

 

I think the matte black would look really good.

 

I was considering silver but leaning toward matte black. I can't really decide. That's why I did this poll. Hopefully I'll get more votes.

I think Yellow Blaze, or even school bus yellow would look good on a mineral gray car.

I have a mineral grey 05 and I would go with silver for your stripes.

For valve covers , fuel rail and throttle body a candy apple red. Or for an old school look the Ford blue that was used on the 289 v8 engine from 66.

 

I'll prolly go with the darkish red. A red and black color sheme in the engine bay would look so bad a IMO
