Front plates? (06)
I live in the great (****!) state of minnesota, that requires a front license plate! Bummer, that means that i will have to figure out how to put one up there. Anyone know how to mount one so it won't look terrible (?) or fall off? I do plan on running a saleen blower, and am wondering if the plate will interfere with airflow to the intercooler radaiater behind the front facia.
Most of use use the holes that are already in the bumper... look close and you will notice two dimples. Pick up a mounting plate at your local Walmart or Auto Zone and mount it using those.
A few of us have fabricated brackets mounted UNDER the upper section of the lower intake and bent UP to hold the plate so there were no exposed holes in the bumper face.
A hand full don't put it on.. LOL.. they just keep the plate handy for when they do get pulled over.

i live in NY they also require a front plate, i REFUSE to put it, it looks like dog crap on the front, havent got stop yet, with my 91 i used to say i was detailing it and had to run out, most cops were cool about it. then again i used to be a cop, so.... i guess im not a good example... good luck...[:@]
when i lived in Missouri i would remove the front plate when i drove thru Arkansas, mississippi and louisiana where no front plate was issued. when in traffic i blended in. i came back to missouri and forgot that it was in the trunk. a female MO trooper was trying to figure out what my rear plate BOSOLE mean and when she passed me noted no front plate. i was pulled over and could tell she didn't really belive me that it was ripped off by a carwash while traveling and i hadn't put it back on. but she let me go with stern instructions to get it on. years before i had the front plate on my 66 corvette screwed to the mounting plate holes (using no mounting plate) in the front bumper so that the plate was parallel to the ground. never got hassled and it was displayed up front. (BOSOLE is phonetic spelling of BeauSoleil, grammy winning cajun band from Scott Louisiana
I too am in a "Front Plate State" and am interested in NOT drilling holes in my front bumper. If I could find a someone who sells a "bolt on" bracket which attaches under the bumper I would buy it like NOW ! (Hint that someone is missing a potential market out there !) I most likely will fabricate one myself since a commercial version doesn't exist.
I also am in a front plate state ( Calif) the dealer has already put the holes in the bumper to put his
paper plate advertising and frame. I used 1/8" holes plugs from Home Depot and painted them
to match with the touch up bottle. I carry the front plate and screws and if needed I can pop out
the plugs and screw on the plate in seconds ( before the cop can finish writing) You dont even notice
the plugs unless your up very close..........

So far i have three options, no front plate and chance a ticket, build some speciel brackets (second best option at this point!) or drill my bumper. The bumper doesn't have a recess for the plate on my 06, nor does it have any dimples. Did those that drilled for a plate go through the bumper cover into a metal backing plate, or what?
