HELP Starter won't engage!

Any new word on the start from O'Reilly's? It sounds like it's more than just the solenoid since you tested it with a direct battery connection...

Ok I feel really stupid but I GUESS I didn't hook it up to the battery correctly or something. Because I took it to Orielly's and watched the damn thing spin and ended up scratching my head.

Then I got home, put the starter back in, and the damn car turned on. The only thing I can think of is that I remember some gunk falling when I was pulling off the nuts holding the electrical wires on the starter.

Anyway...hopefully this thread is useful for someone else going through similar problems. There was alot of good troubleshooting tips.

The other issues I found that a car not starting could be were neutral safety switch and the ignition switch.

Hope someone else finds this helpful!
