Center Console Paint Finish
#21
$500+ is for the entire center column, you only need the top piece/panel, correct (Can't see the pics here at work)??
One on ebay for $213 here
Part number for just the top piece/panel is:
DR3Z-6304567-FA
Shop around, you might find it cheaper than on eBay, a quick google search on that part comes up with several around around $215 average...
GOOD LUCK!!

POWERMAN just spoke with the service manager. Unfortunately I will need the entire console. There is no panel or top piece that comes off, it's all one molded piece I'm going to look again at it myself to see if I agree.

Ebay, look for a used one.
Here's two for under $125.
Nothing wrong with used parts, especially body parts that are not damaged.

ask for more pictures if you want to make certain the condition is to your liking or offer a lower price.
I saved over $450 in buying a used sun roof assembly for my daughter's 06 escape a couple of weeks ago. Retail new they go for over $700. Got it used with a 60 day warranty (complete assembly) for $240 shipped. Installed it and works fine!

I'd try repainting it myself before spending hundreds of dollars but I'm comfortable with my paint skills.
You could go to a body shop and ask about having them do it if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

Ok. Here's what I decided to do. My service manager found me a guy that does airbrushing. I spoke with him and we have an appointment for Monday. This sounds like a win/win for the dealership and me. This guy is interested in getting work at the dealership in the used vehicle department so this could be his way in by doing right by me!!! Price will be $95-$115.

I bet if I tried to do it myself I could get it to look worse than it already does. Think I found the solution. Thanks for your help.

$4 more (free shipping), OEM finish FTW... And unless they changed to center console for the 13' (mine looks identical, so I don't think so), the piece you FUBAR'd does come off (dealers only sell the entire console), I had mine off to run some wires, you just pry up and remove the shifter bezel, then open the rear compartment and grab either back edge (right where it meets the storage lid), and pull up to release it from the center column (just the back half). You have to remove a wiring harness from the shifter (auto only), then pull the front half of the console lid straight back to remove it from the dash. It's pretty easy if you take your time. I would recommend removing it either way (painting/replacing). Maybe he could do a realistic wood grain (nostalgia)
Good Luck
