18x8 or 19x8 Wheels
I've been pondering about getting some nice Bullet wheels. BUT I've seen mustangs with 18's on them, and they don't look as large as I thought they would have. So now I'm thinking of 19's, they are the perfect size, and smaller that the HUGE *** 20's! So the reason for this forum is, are 19's a perspective size for a mustang? I just wanna get a few other opinions. THANKS!

Andy also has a 2010 your 2005 might have problems with 19x10's up front? I'm not 100% sure so stop by a good tire place and ask will this work? I just don't think it will.
All 2005's look good even with 235x18x50's where as my 2013 with 245x19x45's looks skinny. But the wider rim is better 9" up front and 10" back should fit both 05 and 13.
Skinny rims pinch the sidewall inward and create a floating feeling at speed. And I've seen some horror show pictures on this Forum where people have lowered and picked too small a tire and gotten a skateboard look.
All depends on what you are going to do with the car?
D/D: All season, I'd go with 19x9x255 all around P-Zero Nero's.
Drifter: Same, Zero's have better wear rating(400 as compared to sticky tire at 100)
Drag/Daily Driver: Staggered for drag, 255 285x18x9&10 with Nitto Evos(18=More meat on the sidewalls less breaking free).
Your car has less problems with 18" tires looking funny when lowered, where as mine would be laughable. You just don't want to find out you rub on every turn/bump or both.

19x10's may be close and depend on the tire up front (im not really sure but ive heard 10 wide does work from some people) ^ 19x9.5 would be safer i suppose, and a bit lighter.

I just installed 19x9 on front and 19x10 rear on my car from AM (I will post pics in another thread as soon as I put on a few other parts and clean the car...) But my previous wheels (IN MY SIG) are 18x9 and 18x10. All I can say going from both of the sizes your looking at is 19s are definitely the PERFECT size for 05-09. As far as $$$$ goes, AM has some great prices. If you do your HW finding the correct tires, competitive prices and factor in mount and balance 19s are easily only ~$150 more than the same wheel in 18s. Im running 275/40/19 R and 245/40/19 F Falken 453 from my previous tires 255/45/18 F and 285/40/18 R Nitto NT555. To compare they may not look as "cool" but man they ride 10X better!!!! AND it has a more staggered look (shorter fronts 26.7" dia, taller rear 27.7" dia)

19's will limit you on tire choices. Also, I prefer my wife's 17" wheels over my 18" wheels since I'm old school and think that more sidewall=more sexy + more "attitude".
An 8" wide wheel will severely limit your ability to go with a tire wider than the OE width. So chose your wheel width based on what tire size(s) you chose.
285's in back (requiring a 9.5" min wheel width) and 255's up front is, IMO, an ideal setup for these S197's. Anything wider up front and you'll notice significant tramlining.

20's, holy smokes..
i've been eyeing some 19x9 and 19x10's on ebay that come with the tires for around $1,100... but might just keep my 18's cause that's serious coin for wheels that look slightly better
Someone might've mentioned it but with 18's you get a bit more traction and comfort, but less looks. 19's are better for looks but harsher ride and not as good if you want to tear up some asphalt.
But 19's look damn good... 18's look kind of normal. If you have a v6'er you dont really NEED 9 or 10 inch wide wheels and tires (more $$) but they definitely look better. I love how my rear wheels stick out past the fender a little bit.
Reminds me of the few 350z's and G35's i've seen around town with 18x7's, when stock is 8 or 8.5 inches wide. The wheels arent flush with the fenders like stock, and instead are inset, and look like total ***.

I guess i'm a wheel/tire-width-pervert.. i can always glance at the back of the car and know if its a v6 or v8 model within a second or two, be it mustang, camaro, challenger, etc. Most people, even some guys who like cars, aren't as **** about that, such as when my female friend riding with me sees a stock blue v6 stang drive by us and say "its exactly like yours!"
When I see some 285's out back, I get turned on
