Has anyone put elctronic exhaust cut outs on stock exhaust

 

It's possible and will sound the same as if put on a modified exhaust (minus the effect headers have). I really enjoy the sound but have heard the motors and seals give out after a little while making it not worth it.

 

If you can weld halfway decently they're easy to make yourself, however, the seals WILL go out over time.

 

I'd consider putting on cutouts but only on the end of the H pipe. I ran my car with open headers after I finished the install and it didn't sound all that great IMO. It was deafening too.

 

Illegal here and will fail it at safety inspection time ...... and earn a cite if officer takes a notion to look ( like maybe he was with his wife coming out of Walmart last night when Rodney Redneck buzzed by the entrance with his opened up and today he decides to have a looksee as to why it's so quiet now?).

Yeah .... it happens.
