You want to pick the largest, ugliest wheels possible so I can flame you...
I understand that you like the all black wheel look but take a look at some of the black wheels with chrome/silver accent trim. IMO, all black is a bit too "in the hood". Yes, there are a LOT of choices.
As far as tire size, if you go with an 18" wheel, you'll need a tire that not only is within specs for tire WIDTH for that wheel but also maintains as close to the O.D. (outside diameter) of the stock tire, otherwise you'll need a handheld tuner to adjust for the speedometer being off. Any of the online tire size calculators can help tire sizing.
Be sure to post some before and after pics. Oh, and of the car, too.

That looks great. I agree, black rims look wonderful with torch red. That is the look I think I want. However, there is SO many options that it makes it extremely hard to pick any...I do like black rims with some red accent, etc. That's all you have to do to plasti-dip? Maybe I'll try that. Does it not peel after awhile??
I live in the mountains and I have new tires on my 16 in rims - winter is coming up so I might have to wait anyways for new rims/tires.
thanks!

Yeah, the plasti-dip will get dinged up from rocks and debri, however, all you have to do is respray to touch up. We put 4 coats of plasti-dip and it will peel right off when he decides to remove it. You could always try this on your stock wheels, while deciding and waiting on your new set. You can get 3 cans of plasti-dip at Home Depot for $7 each.
There are several videos on Youtube that shows you the best way to do it.
Clean and prep the wheel. We used index cards and placed around the lip of the rim to catch the overspray. It's pretty easy and inexpensive.

I like the index card idea, I was wondering how to not overspray on the tire and such. I might give it a try while I'm looking for a new set. I think I might just buy a two toned rim set - save the trouble of worrying about black or chrome
