The original owner worked on an oil rig so he was out 6 weeks, in two... He was tired of family not respecting his car by using it more as a table in the garage. He also was overly cautious of leaving a vert set someplace fearing the top would get sliced. He also had discussions with his wife about her driving it on a dirt road to see her relatives. Bottom line, he also says he is buying a new Challenger in Jan. It also appears he buys and sells every couple of years or so.

The temp at picture time was 59° at about 10 am. This warm weather is really rough with convertibles....lol

My suggestion, get a classic. Otherwise, the S197 and mod the hell out of it!

Not a bad move at all ..... "Wife Unit" and I both like the 05-09s better than the 10s and up .... and I like 4.6, good mileage, good power ..... don't have a use for 400+ HP.

Not a bad choice at all. And your not alone when thinking the 05-09 are better looking cars!!

The only thing that keeps me from upgrading to the 5.0 is my dislike for the changes made in the body style in '10. The 05 thru 09 is as retro to the original as Ford has taken the line.

IMO, you have a winner.

Pete - sounds like you and your better half are like me and mine. The longest we've held onto a car in recent memory was maybe 10 years and that was a loooong time. Lately, we've been turning over in 1 to 2 years.

I agree with most, smart move for your given reasons...
I'd put one piece spark plugs while it's "fairly" easy at that mileage to get the crappy OEM ones out without breaking them in two parts.
