A few thoughts:

Lowering by itself does not translate directly to better handling. Looks can be deceiving.

Since it ultimately comes down to what your tires are doing, better and somewhat wider tires on wider wheels really need to be at the beginning of any handling-oriented project.

It doesn't end with simply getting and installing the parts you want, there is still some tuning required to get the most benefit from them. Tire pressures and alignment, just to name a couple.

Norm
Norm makes some good points...although I will say that when I got my '11 bone stock, the car was very difficult to drive after driving a '07 GT which I lowered after about 6 months of driving it stock. The body roll on the '11 was just nuts...combined with learning the newer electric steering and the insane amount of power. Once I did the suspension mods the car was able to provide some spirited driving and it corners like its on rails.

I will also say the way the car would torque hard to the left off the line and would spin out if I stayed in the throttle is gone now. It just does a shallow fishtail now and will go straight as hard as I am willing to push it. My '11 stock tires only have 8500 miles on them so I cant comment on that yet.
