Default 2011 - CAI/BAMA Tuner Question

Hello all...I recently traded my 08 GT for an 11 GT....man that 5.0 is sweeeeet! With my 08, I had a CAI and a Bama tune. I was pleased with it....made for seeming smoother accelerations, particularly with initial throttle response.

I see people with the same setup on the newer model GTs, including the 11. Does the CAI and tune make as noticable of a difference with this setup, as it did with the previous 4.6? Thanks for any input.

The tune does.. the CAI does nothing. You dont need the CAI.. the car comes with one stock.

The combination nets larger gains than just the tune alone.

You will have both sides on this one ... but the Ford intake system is fantastic, absolutely the best that has ever come from the factory. It will actually keep air charge temps slightly cooler under some conditions than an aftermarket cold air. Where the aftermarket cold air shines is in airflow to support higher horsepower. On the dyno we typically see 9 to 12 horsepower over the stock airbox, mostly above 4,000rpm

Congratulations! Post up some pictures of your new Coyote, we'd love to check it out. The 5.0 is definitely a big difference over the previous years 4.6L V8.

I'm glad to hear you really enjoyed the Bama tune and CAI on your 2008 Mustang. If you thought the gains were good on that car, wait until you put a CAI and Tune on your 2011 GT! We've seen huge increases across the board when adding these modifications. You'll notice more power, torque, acceleration, drive ability, gas mileage, throttle response and much more! You can expect to see gains of 25+ RWHP and 25+ RWTQ with a Intake and Tuner combo from AmericanMuscle.

I hope this helps! I look forward to checking out your car. Please feel free to hit me up if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future!

the tuner is well recommended and reputed, I tried it but preferred the stock tune, also remember the 5.0s 2011 GT have a high rate of engine failure with bama tunes. because the way the coolant passages or something are designed, the #8 cylinder gets really hot and dies then u stuck with a 10k+ bill. is it really worth the extra ~25 horsepower? maybe to some.

The question is tho why was there a #8 failure.

& on top of that AM/Bama are a great company if they really did warranty the cars that had a #8 failure....if it really was a failure on part of there tune.

That is quite a claim. Define "hight rate of failure?"?? 0.1%?
