Question Troubleshoot starting problems

Running into a rather unusual starting problem. Battery appears to be fine. Starter motor also appears fine. When i go to start it, i get nothing but a click coming from the smart junction panel. Fuses also look good. Here's where it gets weird. When i connect a remote start button to the solenoid on the starter, put the key in the on position, press the start button, fires right up.

I'm getting a similar unusual problem on my 07, except when I leave the key on and disconnect and reconnect the battery, it fires right up. Haven't gotten much on how to fix it though.

Looks like it ended up being the clutch safety switch. Got 0 volts while testing the start signal. Ignition switch tested good. Jumpered clutch safety switch by sticking a 20 amp fuse in the plug. Turned the key, fired right up…

Is this a common problem with that model?
