Need a better description of the problem, so many variables at play troubleshooting would be like playing pin the tail on the donkey at the moment.
Temperature
Speed
Mileage on the car
Clutch (stock/AM)
Funny noises
Grinding
How often, every time or once in a while
Codes?
Etc...

So after you accelerate hard you can't get the car out of gear, but when you pull over and shutdown then restart the engine everything works fine?

Sounds like something mechanical is binding under hard acceleration. You might want to check trans mounts, and double check your shifter linkages to the AM Hurst shifter

I might be mistaken, but I don't think any gen mustang has shift lock out features like GM products. Anyone else know?

From what I can understand it won't let you get out of gear when you get on it until you shut the car off? I don't see how shutting the car off will have anything at all to do with it not letting you in/out of gear since that aspect is all mechanical.

Sounds like something is binding in the drivetrain. Clutch? Bad pilot bearing?

One possibility is a bad engine mount.

yes, that the only way to get my car to shift again, is to pull over shut the engine down, than restart it, also it will let me put the car in reverse
