Default 4.10 gears

i would like to hear from someone who has 4.10 gears how the car is at highway speed? mine is a 5 speed and 5th seems really tall. Will i still be able to cruise at 75 or 80 w/o reving too high?

Sometimes i drive in traffic with the stock gears and the overdrive off at ~85 to keep it in the big powerband area for zoom zoom zoom. I don't keep it there for long because I don't know if it is good or not either.

I'm sure it's not great for the engine, but it can't be very damaging at the same time i guess

I just had 4.10's installed in my 3.8. Personally, I love them. But it's an auto. For manual, 3.73's are recommended. I think it's cus of the extra gears.

At 60 I turn 2200-2300 RPM, at 70 I turn about 2400-2500RPM. I have a manual 2k5 GT with 4:10's.

I think I will be putting 4.10s in my 5spd. From what I am hearing they only add about 250 RPM at around 70mph in 5th gear.

i have been running 4.10s for a while now. at about 80mph the engine spins at 2800 rpm. it really shortens first gear. you have to be quick when getting on it to not over rev. but you will get used to it.

I had 4.10's installed shortly after getting the car and I have no regrets. I love the way she drives.

4.10 in a manual should give you 2100 at 60mph and 2425 at 70mph

What did you guys pay for installation? I got quoted $500 for the stealer, I mean dealer. The other quotes I got in my area were all about the same (one $900 quote, which made me laugh)
