OK.

*shrug* I don't see the point. The only reason some cars needed them in the past is to restore some stiffness to the body after the loss of the roof/pillar structure. Don't know why one would add it to a car which doesn't need one.

Its an appearance mod mostly, but it will stiffen the chassis slightly.

according to my spouse, I'll be getting one soon, so I found out today, i have no choice on the matter, and she finally came around to like them.
Ahh, okay. I wondered if they did or if you'd have to build something like that yourself if you didn't want the interior glowing all the time. It just didn't seem immediately easy to just plug it in and get that functionality, but I'm glad they have.

yeah, with a third brake light already, I don't see the need for a fourth, so I know I will be getting one w/out the light.

That's kind of what I was thinking myself. It looks a little odd having a floating brake light way up top. Might as well save the money. I've been considering getting one of these myself. I really like the Cervinis one though and it's a little expensive to me at this point.

have you found a brand?

There seems to only be four choices (i've exhaustively researched this, i'm kinda obsessive like that)

CDC
The copies of CDC, generally without brake light (SVE, MMD, other brands you might see on e-bay)
Cervinis
Aeroform

I'm going with Aeroform as it seems to have a rearward angle/pitch, CDC is straight up and Cervinis just looks square and clunky.

I'm actually just waiting to hear back from them if it plays nice with wind deflectors on the market. if it does, then I can confidently make that purchase.

It doesn't tie into the chassis at all. Just 2 small bolts at the top. So only an appearance mod, no chassis stiffening

depends on the one you get. Aeroform? just two bolts that already exist.

I thought CDC required drilling where the B-pillar would be.

I love mine. Kid loves it also. Easy install, clear instructions.
