As long as you're running a one piece plug, it will be fine. Champion has always made good plugs.

45,000 miles on mine thinking of doing this soon to get this out of the way. Sooner the better with these it sounds like.
just make sure they are one piece plug!

I bet when you put new plugs in you'll feel a difference. Performance has faded during the years I'm sure.

Don't be afraid to do it yourself, as long as you have patience. People that break them are rushing it. The night before your day off take off the coil packs and loosen the plugs a 1/4 turn, then soak them with solvent over night. The next day take your time I'm talking like 5-6 minutes on each plug to their out. Loosen tighten loosen tighten over and over a quarter turn at a time. They will come out no problem if you have patience that's it.. There are several vids on YouTube if you need a better visual and step by step. You can do it if you do it right and are cautious/patient about it. People seem to be so scared of these plugs without a listle tool. No need if you can manage the correct procedure and a little more extra catioun. If you take it to a dealership they will charge you all the hours of extra time getting the broken plugs out cause they rushed it, they have a lot to do and taking their time that's required to take spark plugs out isn't on their mind.. Don't be afraid and just do it

Also forgot to mention, you will notice a nice gain on fresh plugs. I felt the difference when I changed mine at 70k!!

if spark plugs were affecting your car's performance, your check engine light should have been on from misfire codes.

EXACTLY!! I have been saying the same thing for quite awhile!!!!!! You OBVIOUSLY have the same experience a mechanic friend of mine has...he told me the MOST IMPORTANT thing is operating temp! He has NEVER broken one in his f150, Mustang experiences...I have changed 4 different cars and never broken one...

Thanks for all the help guys. Im thinking of trying to change them myself. I was just a little scared because of the stories I have heard about how hard they are to get out without breaking them and they have been in there for 8 years now lol.

yes i'm a auto mechanic! you are always told to never remove plugs from a hot engine but sometimes that is the only way to to it!

The physics of different metals expansion rates at a given temp...The aluminum head expands slightly faster then the steel of the plugs which then slightly loosens the grip of the head on the plug...seems to be just enough to make a big difference!
