Remaining 2014 pricing....

Regarding the first theory, dealerships can be all like "humph! We aren't budging on the price!" but regardless of the circumstances, the longer that car sits on the lot the more it costs them money because they could instead use that spot for another car...perhaps even a model that sells fast which can again be replaced by yet another vehicle etc.
Nice pick up though.

The 2014 Mustang is not in current production, it was scheduled to stop production on June 20th.

I'd drive it first and see if it has the more preferable gears. Last year I had a '13 v6 auto convertible for a day while my GT was in the shop and that car felt like a COMPLETE dog. i was told it was the gearing that made it feel so slow. the 30mpg was sweet though.

Ha! My 2014 GT has an October 2013 build date. I think that after the first of the year (or pretty damn close to that) the price of the 2014's went up due to the destination fee going up. When researching whether or not to buy a Mustang, I also looked up how much longer they were going to be building them, and I found this:
I was seeing this around the first part of April, and flew up to Baltimore from Atlanta to purchase my car on April 18th. I figured this was going to be the best opportunity to own a Mustang at a price my wife and I were comfortable with.

The cool thing for me was; I live just outside Atlanta, and the car was being sold by a dealership in Baltimore. They charged me my county's sales tax, and two months later, I got a Georgia tag, registration, and title for my car without having to go to the local tag office. Even better is with the new Georgia vehicle registration laws, I don't have to pay a yearly "ad valorem" tax on my car because I paid it all up front through the dealership. Now all I have to do is pay a year $25 (or so) tag fee.
