Default Headers

hey guys ive been looking at getting some longtube headers for my car but idk if i really need it or not or would be a good combo with my car...

i have a 2014 5.0 with a roush supercharger and was wondering if LT's would be a good upgrade with it... but does the size of the piping make a difference?
like 1 3/4 to 1 7/8.

ive had full stainless works exhaust on my 2011 5.0 and that thing hauled *** after i put those on...but would it be better too have shorties with the supercharger or LT's?

i would appreciate any advice on this thanks

Anything that improves the breathing (airflow) on these cars is a welcome upgrade! You should know this from doing it on the 2011.

adding LT to a supercharged engine is a great idea.

yea i know it does...but ive heard different opinions about a supercharger with LT's.

but does the size of the headers matter?

and what about tuned headers?

1 7/8 make more power on forced induction engines, 1 3/4 make more power on naturally aspirated engines.

I've been seriously considering doing long tubes and a smaller pulley with a re-tune for a while now. I've done a lot of research and I don't think you can go wrong with Kooks. I'm always looking for the best deal, there a vendor or two that are doing good pricing on the 1 7/8 and Maryland Speed (sponsor on this site so I thought it be safe to mention them) is doing free heat coating on them. You may also want to look into ARH (American Racing Headers) I've heard nothing but good about them and the shop that would be doing the work for me if I go this route is a big fan on them.

Yes, for a forced induction (Super charger) 1 7/8 Would allow the engine to breathe better than a 1 3/4 set up, It is also extremely dependent upon your tune however. No "mail" tunes will cover you now, its all dyno from here on out. Good Luck!

KOOKS makes great products, but IMO Stainless Works is even better.
The speed shop here in Raleigh that did my install also did the same install with KOOKS L/T and they said the gains were better with the Stainless Works headers, as if the KOOKS were more of a mid-length header.

MINE=JLT CAI/Stainless Works L/T 1 3/4 headers/BOSS Intake
OTHER=JLT CAI/KOOKS L/T 1 3/4 headers/BOSS intake

+1 on stainless works. Thats what I have and I'm VERY happy with them. No leaks, great construction, amazing sound.

You most certainly will need a new tune with any longtubes you purchase with that blower you have. They are a lot of work to install but the improved tone and gains are worth it IMO.
