Hey guys, just thinking about the first mod for my 14 Mustang GT. I was going to get the FRPP tune from Ford, but hear performance gains are minimal at best. I really don't want to get an aftermarket tune yet that voids the warranty. So I guess my only other options are a K&N drop in or their aircharger. I'm having trouble finding any actual dyno results on these and there doesn't seem to be many reviews either. They claim the procharger yields about 20hp and the reviews on Amazon seem good, but also hear other CAI don't really do much for these cars other than better sound. I'm not really planning on doing much more to the car besides maybe exhaust down the road.

If you want some piece of mind go with Bama. If you won't performance go with Brenspeed or AED. I have had Bama and Brenspeed, I went with Hypermotive, the best of both worlds. You can't beat Jason's customer service and the tune is awesome. some guys run Fords Procal device like you stated.

It sounds like the Hypermotive tune is the best bet for my 6 speed. I'm guessing I would want to get the SCT X4? It says it comes pre-loaded with tunes. If that is correct, do you guys have any info on which ones and the approximate hp increase? The economy tune sounds interesting too. The only drawback versus the Procal is it doesn't come with a K&N filter. I could always get one of those too, but are they really useless, ie no improvement in mileage or anything?

I'd stay away from the canned SCT tunes. Bama and Brenspeed are the 2 favorites when it comes to how well the tunes are written. Bama has free tunes for life and Brenspeed has a buy-in plan, I believe. I've heard very little about Hypermotive but one good review is a start.
The Bama and Brenspeed tunes are typically good for a range of about 25-35 RWHP on the 5.0 with a few dependent variables, one of which is adding the CAI. The CAI buy itself does little. The tunes are a great match for the CAI.
You paid in the $30k range for a performance car and you talk "mileage"?

So I take it the hypermotive custom remote tuning session for 350 is used for custom tuning and the SCT for 399 is canned? I'm a little confused though as you can get the N/A custom tuning with the SCT option for 399 also. I'm thinking the canned would be good enough since I don't have any mods and most likely won't get any for awhile besides a drop in. As far as mileage, since 80% or so of the time I'm not really getting on it, why not try to get a couple mpg? Every little bit helps.
