cadillac converters

Why would a Ford have Cadillac converters? Which converters are you talking about, torque or catalytic?

Anyway, I guess it depends on the state, they all have different inspection laws. If they do not do a sniff test (where they actually do a reading from the exhaust) then you can still pass so long as your car is not running lean and therefore not tripping the CEL. My CEL was going off b/c of my Bassani cats but I got rid of the leanness with a tune and don't have a CEL now. I am taking it in to be inspected in a few weeks.

Hmm.. to the best of my knowledge, ALL states require a catalytic converter. There is no passing without them.. Some people will hollow them out to eliminate the backpressure. This also gives the appearance that they are there, but in most cases you will fail an emissions test.
As far as a torque converter goes, I don't think you removed that, as that is the physical connection between the automatic trans to the flexplate of the engine.. The car wouldn't move and you would pi$$ tranny fluid everywhere

hmmmm...Where are the Cadillac converters located??? Are they connected to the Hummer??? Maybe they are part of the Catalina. I'll look for them during my lowering Sprint installation. My next mods will be the Cold Air Infinity, under Dodge pulleys and maybe a KB super Challenger.
