Ordered, Now What?
I just ordered a 2006 GT Conv. I signed a paper stating exactly what i wanted, put $1000 deposit down to get the order placed, but i didn't get anything else, just "We'll call you when it comes in, about 6-8 weeks" I see guys talking about 800#'s and beig able to check up on the status of their order, but i didn't recieve any information on any of that. What do I need to call my dealer and ask for if I want to b able to check on my order
Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement -- Has your name, the dealer number, order number, model year, priority number, body code on there. Looks like just a random computer print out with the invoice price, etc. Lets you know they ordered it, and, gives you way to track your Stang in secret.
It is imperative that you get this sheet, you should have gotten it when you ordered, but if you havn't just have them fax it over. If they are reluctant, I'd get your deposit back.
Once you have the DORA, you can use this information to call the following number. 1-800-962-3746
Use the automated system and enter in the information it asks for off of the DORA. Under no circumstance should you talk to an analyst, if a real person gets on the line, or, you get forwarded to an analyst, just hang up and start again on the automated. This will tell you the status of your car, ie estimated build date, etc.

I would agree with you anitv6, but he ordered a vert. Those are a little more rare on dealer lots. Plus there are just way too many options, (color, wheels, interior upgrade packs, etc..) for everybody to get THAT lucky on a dealer lot
Reason I ordered the car is cause i wanted the leater with the vert but not the Shaker system. I manage a Car Audio shop in New Orleans, so whatever comes in the car stereo wise will be ripped out anyway. No sense paying for something I don't need. So I got a Deluxe with the interior upgrade package and leather.[IMG][/IMG]
Many dealers, such as my own, will only do X-plan if you order a vehicle, not on vehicles on the lot. My dealer also only had 3 or 4 GT's at the time, none with the options I wanted. I'd have to drive 340 miles to get a better selection as far as "on the lot" vehicles.
