Just wanted to make sure I have the typical water leak as everyone else. Mine's leaking from where the fuse panel is on the passenger side. Same thing as everyone else? It's the seals up under the windshield cowl right?

 

What you describe seems to be what the TSB relates to. IMO, it can occur if you disturb the cowling such as when you replace the cabin air filter but that's just my theory. Many 05's and 06's came from the factory with the leak.

There is another passenger side leak associated with blocked cowl drain grommets but that leak allows water to enter the cabin thru the cabin air filter and does not cause issues with the SJB (what you've called a fusebox).

 

So Nuke, you are saying if your Mustang doesn't leak and you haven't replaced the cabin air filter that it may leak if you do? I just bought a K&N Cabin Air filter but because of the snow, I haven't installed it yet. Now I'm kind of worried if I do I may cause a leak.

Yes, that's what Nuke said. Some aftermarket filters don't fit quite as well as the Motorcraft and thus don't seal as well. Specifically, I don't know about the K&N. Also, make sure you clean out any debris from the area below the filter. It's all about getting a good seal.

 

So I drove it last night and the passenger side airbag randomly shut off while I was driving... Not a good sign I am guessing....

 

The airbag may be unrelated. What year is your Stang? There was a TSB to reprogram the restraint system which might help with that.

The 09's shouldn't have any of the issues of the 05-06/07 models.

You've never replaced your air cabin filter???? YUCK! Anyways, I would open up the air cabin filter area and check to see you don't have water trapped below it due to the drains being blocked.

If that area is clear the next easy thing to do is check the SJB area. Water infiltration is pretty obvious there if it exists. That leak is not cause by the windshield. I believe it's at the A pillar of where the windshield meets the A pillar and the fact that older cars did not have the extra plastic shielding to keep water out of the SJB area.

Also, I found an interesting find by another member posted a while back. To me, his finding sounds more probable for you since your model should already have the SJB issue fixed from the factory.

lastly if neither of those two prove to lead anywhere, you can have someone spray a hose towards the passenger side windshield while you climb under the dash on the passenger side with a flashlight and your hands to feel around for any water seepage.

 

No because the car still smells like new. It has 13K miles on it and never gets driven in the rain. However, I did buy a K&N Cabin Air filter that you can clean and reuse.
