Installed the Steeda tri-ax
Great shifter, huge improvement in the feel of shifting. I went with the lower (shorter throw) of the two settings. The only trouble I had was the directions, they have you install the upper shifter handle backwards and it contacts the counslel. I quick flip of the handle and I was in buisness. There are a few short cuts that you can take and a few that you can not.
1) you do NOT have to drop the center bearing on the driveshaft, there is enough room to install everything.
2) you DO have to remove the 4 12mm bolts on the front flange, no way around it
3) you DO have to remove the shifter after you set the stops to reinstall the rubber inner boot. If you can get it back on with out removing the shifter more power to you, I tried for 30 mins and couldn't get it.
Overall the installation was very easy and I am super satisfied with the shifter. You will have a bit more noise when shifting and I have a bit of trouble with 5th gear, but nothing major. I figure it will loosen up a bit after sone driving.
