Default Can anyone identify this sound?

My cars been doing this intermittently for a few months now, and the check engine light has started coming on because of it every now and then. it always throws the cam shift position sensor code, so both of those have been replaced. I've read that sometimes that code can mean it needs a new alternator if it persists after changing he sensors, but I put a brand new Ford alternator in it about 16 months ago. It starts to idle rough when it makes this sound, but won't stall and stops making the noise if you give it a decent amount of gas. Any ideas what it might be?
