Cool Strut mount clunk fix!

I have had the dreaded front end clunk most from day one. I almost got se to it. I tried using GT500 mounts... no good. So I bought a set of whole strut/spring/mount assemblies, new sway bar bushings/end links. The thing drives like a brand new car. No noise. Feels great. And the strut assemblies are surprisingly cheap and easier to install than piece by piece. Now I just need to find that damned hissing sound and swap fluids for rear and cooling, and I'll be happy again. Also wax, lol.

surprised you haven't needed control arms yet. I did the struts and links first, then the sway bar bushings, and finally the Control Arms when there was still a bit of popping over bumps. Now it's like a brand new front end!

i replaced the control arms 50000 miles ago at ford. I think I got the gt500s. so I just pressed in the joints.

GT500 front lower control arms fixed it for me. Mine was so bad, I hated it. Car sounded like a giant POS. So much better without that noise.

Wha? The control arms are all one unit, ball joints and bushings...no pressing needed, just swap the whole arm out.

Mine were so bad that on wide sweeping corners at 50-55 I could feel the wheel bouncing on the outer side, talk about a confidence killer when driving on a freeway onramp and you feel the wheel bouncing.... When I replaced the arms the bushings that are facing the front were cracked all the way through!

What brand strut assemblies did you purchase?

Reading all these problems with front end clunk on a relatively new vehicle tells me ford engineering sucks.

Kind of an ignorant comment.

Every car has issues. Go to any forum or Google TSB for any manufacturer and you will find issues with all makes and models.

All of their engineers must suck too...

I'll explain myself. Been in the automotive industry since the 60's and retired in 2000.This is 2015 cars have been around a few years. The big three know what durometer of rubber to use in suspension components that hold up and last. Back in the day we had suspension rubber failures but not like you are seeing in the mustang with low mileage. And most of the time the failure cause was due to misaligment or bent component to cause the failure. Sorry if I got anybody's panties in a bunch
