Thumbs down 2008 v6 transmission weirdness

I just performed my 2nd AUTOMATIC tranny fluid change on my 2008 v6 on Friday. It has 86500KM, first fluid change was at just over 50000. I have a bama tune, though it's just for feels, I never race or otherwise abuse the car. Always smooths shifts, and noticed it was even smoother after the fluid change.

Up until this happened: few hours after leaving the dealer I was leaving a parking lot that had an upwards slope. When I let off the brake, the car rolled backwards and my engine revved as if I was in neutral. Caught it with the brake until I felt the trans engage and it drove normally after that.

On the Saturday it did the same thing once after driving for a couple of hours, didn't happen before or after that day. this morning it did it on my sloped driveway in reverse while cold. I drove it around for half hour and took it to a really steep slope to test taking off in D/R and it was back to normal, firm take offs, no weird feels or sounds. Took it home and backed it onto my driveway, stopped midway, proceeded and everything felt normal.

At this point I feel like I will ditch work and head to the ford dealership first thing in the morning. What can I expect?!

Sounds like they didn't get the fluid level correct. Had the same thing happen to my 2006 once, needed another quart after the fluid change.

Yes the 5r55s is very fickle about fluid level. If the dealer filled it by capacity and not actual level, they are probably a 1/2 quart too low.

We'll I took it in and explained, the tech tried to replicate the issue but it wasn't happening, as it wasn't a constant thing, just random. Checked fluid level by adding some and sent me on my way. I rode my bike to work but I'm going to drive the car and test it out, see what happens.

Sincerely hope that's the end of that!

Tranny fluid expands as it gets warm so it doesn't surprise me the tech couldn't duplicate it if it's only down half a quart.

The fluid was warm by the time you drove it there and it would take overnight to fully cool.
