Default 2014 V6 Mustang - trunk/emblem plastic peeling?

Hello all,

anybody else experienced this? Took it to FORD tonight who said they will see if they can get it fixed under warranty but not sure if they can. The car is a 2014 with a full warranty on it, 35000 miles. This should be a warranty issue right? The plastic is actually peeling away.

Any experiences on this would be welcome!

Thanks

That should be completely covered under warranty honestly, and any dealership that tells you otherwise is trying to walk out on you. I'd visit someone else.

Mine is doing the same thing. It's not under warranty anymore but plan on asking anyways.

JUST went out to look at my 13' and it's happening on the lower portion of mine as well. Going to be taking it to the dealership this weekend to get it taken care of.

Thanks all! They have agreed to replace the part. Sounds like it is a common fault. Glad I bought my extended warranty. I love mustangs but seems as though they have a number of quality issues. Which is just such a shame!

While I'm here.. Don't suppose if any of you know if this is covered under warranty -

Plastic paint is flaking away!

I've heard of that happening as well, sadly, it being on the interior, they tend to blame it on the owner of the vehicle and try to find you at fault (Via rubbing of stuff in your pockets, or placing items in the seats etc) so its harder to get that covered, however Im sure if you find the right dealership they will help you out! I'm hoping that when I take mine in they cover the decklid as well, I also have the extended warranty.

depending on the area your dealer is in, the dealer may be part of digital imaging approval process, this means that the dealer take pics and submits them to ford, ford makes the call and either approves the repair or says tough luck. i know because thats what we do in the service dept where i work as a tech. good luck
