Default Window Scratches

I had my front side windows tinted recently by a company that has done all my windows in the past and does my work's car with no problems in the past. The windows have been tinted for about 2 weeks. On both windows I am now getting scratch marks from rolling the window up and down. I checked and see no debris, The tint company says something in the door must be rubbing on the window. Like I said, its both winodws and in the same spots. They are going to pull my door panels off when I take it in next week. Anyone have any similiar problems. The first scratch is about 9 inches from the front of the window and the second is about 3 inches from the rear of the window. Thanks for any input.

My tint has the same problem. Been too lazy to call the tint company knowing I'll have to argue with them to get it redone.

The side windows do not have "felt" on the rubber window guides. I had the felt added for $75 extra when tinting. There are few threads that talk about this
if you do a search.

So far so good...

Same problem here... Do most tint shops have the felt to add? I called my shop and the didn't have the felt to add.

Goddamn Ford should have to fix this, and I'm gonna fight them on the $130 it's gonna cost me to re-do the fronts.

This problem has been reported a LOT on these forums. Some people have installed felt, others moleskin and yet others the soft side of Velcro. I had mine tinted and mentioned the scratching problems, they swore nothing was needed and that they've done a bunch of new Mustangs (they tint for a local dealer). They thought the problem may be due to substandard tint film being used. Their film/ installation had a lifetime warranty, so I figured what the heck, they'll have to fix it if it scratches. I've had the windows up and down a zillion times and there are no scratches.

i just posted in the same topic in a differednt thread, aparently the felt is mega cheap(like the carpet) and it doesnt "brush off" as easily.

i heard felt strips work... where and what kind i have no idea. although i need it too. i have 3 lines that appear to be getting larger.

I called the Ford Customer Relation Center and they said they never heard of this issue. Yeah, OK...
