Default So i just bought my first car

I just got a 2005 Ford Mustang recently and i am loving it. Looking to do a few upgrades and changes to it, but not quite sure what i want to do. First off, i do want it to sound louder, so should i do a muffler delete, or get a whole new single pipe cat back system?

Congratulations! We all remember our first car - enjoy it!

Go for the axle back to start. No reason to go any further on the exhaust at this stage.

Check eBay and Craigslist for USED axle back exhausts first... exhaust is one of those things that people change around frequently, so you might get a good set of mufflers for cheap.

Watch a lot of videos on YouTube for Mustang exhausts to see what you like first. Keep in mind, YouTube videos don't sound EXACTLY like the exhaust would in person, but close enough.

Happy hunting.

Congrats on the car.. What part of Ohio? Cincinnati here. If you have a good sound system and can listen to the youtube clips on it, it will help alot. It took me about 4 months to finally decide on mine.

Thanks man! And im trying to get a nice deep muscle tone from my car, so hopefully an axle back system will give me that, thanks for the tip!

I had Flowmaster American Thunders on my '06 GT (which was bone stock), and they had a nice, deep tone. On my Roush, I have the Roush Axlebacks, which I really like. They are really aggressive.

For a deep tone try to find some borla s types. They have a killer deep tone. Muffler delete will sound like crap, dont waste your time. A great inexpensive option to the S types are the SSS Adrenelenes.

Congrats!

Just to have it sounding better though, Pypes pipe bomb is really good for the $. I have those on my car, best mod for under $300! Summit racing had a good price on them when I purchased.

If you plan on doing future mods like super charger, consider a catback. But if not, no need to waste the $.
