Light problem after Engine swap?
Hey guys,
Had engine issues in my 6er, so I had a replacement engine swapped in. I picked the car up last week and just now noticed that for some reason I now have DRLs. Has anyone seen this before? From what I gather DRLs can be programmed into the BCM or a module is needed. I had neither done....is there any way they could've got some wiring messed up and caused this? I do have an after market kit installed for Hi/Low & Fogs...so they might have gotten that crossed too, but I was thinking that if they did the lights would be always on, however, they just come on with the car. Fogs works with the switch as intended, but my Low Beams stay on as long as the car is on. HELP!!

Depending on the shop they may have reflashed. We used to do that a lot when doing engine swaps. If they flashed a tune that had DRL that could be the issue. DRL is controlled by the BCM but the PCM tells it when your in drive to activate them. I don't think you can reprogram the BCM you just change whether the PCM sends the signal id have to check the manuals though which I don't have at home here.
